Overview of Low Vision
Low Vision refers to a significant visual impairment that cannot be fully corrected with standard glasses, contact lenses or medical treatment. People with Low Vision have reduced visual acuity, field of view, or contrast sensitivity, which makes it challenging for them to perform daily activities.

Despite their visual limitations, individuals with Low Vision can still benefit from specialized devices, rehabilitation, and support services to enhance their remaining vision and maintain independence. The International Academy of Low Vision Specialists and its practitioners play a crucial role in assessing and addressing the unique needs of these individuals, improving their quality of life and functionality.
